Guaynabo - Fajardo 98-99 There was no surprise in Guaynabo where 6th ranked Mets (1-8) were edged by third ranked Cariduros (4-5) 99-98 on Monday. Cariduros made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cariduros made 8 blocks. American center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and guard Jermaine Miranda (190-2001, college: CBU) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Mets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cariduros maintains third position with 4-5 record having just three points less than leader Quebradillas. Mets lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Indios (5-4) 80-62. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Vaqueros. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. American point guard Tyreke Evans (198-1989, college: Memphis) fired 28 points for the winners. The other American import power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Ismael Romero (205-1991) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Javier Mojica (189-1984, college: CCSU) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. At the losing side American point guard Norris Cole (188-1988, college: CSU) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds.
